Logline
Five years after a manufactured pandemic ended the world, a former ER doctor and her younger sister cross a continent toward the last hopeful city on Earth — where the truth of how they survived will force them to choose between justice and the future.
Premise
ANN (30) and KALEEN (18) are sisters who survived the end of civilization. Five years of scavenging the ruins of Los Angeles have made them guarded and fiercely bonded. When their city runs out of resources, they head south — a journey through abandoned highways, warlord-controlled borderlands, and the ghost of a once-great civilization.
At the end of their journey lies Nueva Tenoch, a thriving new city built over the ruins of the Mexican capital using ancient Aztec techniques. It is the most hopeful place left on Earth. However, it is also built on a secret that will shatter Ann's understanding of justice.
